Defra Reports on the Conduct & Operation of D&S IFCA

The Conduct & Operation of all IFCAs between 2014 and 2018 has been set out in a recently published Defra report that you can now read.

What’s in the Defra Report?

The report describes how the ten separate IFCAs in England (including D&S IFCA) have worked in the four years to 31st August 2018. Content includes:

Focus on D&S IFCA (page 15 to 24)

Summary of Achievements and Challenges (page 74 to 76)

Information about IFCA funding (page 85)

Who had an input into the Defra Report?

All Ten IFCAs provided self-assessments to help Defra produce the report; however other people and organisations were also invited to submit comments and evidence. Emails were sent from Defra to their Marine and Fisheries contacts and the government website “Citizen Space” was also used to publicise the opportunity to have a say.  The Call for Evidence was also publicised in the industry newspaper Fishing News in July 2018.
